VINTAGE BATHROOM

Vintage bathroom decor from Vintarama: original medicine cabinets, bathroom cabinets, shelves, stools and scales from Italy, West Germany and East Germany. Colorful 1960s plastic medicine cabinets by CM Torino (Carrara Matta) and Plaster SpA sit next to pieces by KSR, Fackelmann, Soehnle, Emsa, Keramag and Probad. Most date from the 1960s to the 1980s, and every listing names maker, year, condition and measurements. Each piece is a genuine original, never a reproduction, from floating ceramic shelves and mechanical scales to wall hooks for a mid century bathroom. Questions about a piece? Just message us.

Squeaky-Clean Answers to Your Bathroom Questions

Are these genuine originals, or reproductions?

Genuine originals, every single piece -- plucked from homes and flea markets across Europe, mostly Italy and Germany. We don't do reproductions; what's vintage here actually lived a life before it got to you.

What condition are the pieces in?

Very good to near-perfect is our baseline -- anything less simply doesn't make it onto our shelves. We clean, check (and repair where needed) every piece before it ships, and if a trace of its past life remains, that's character, not a compromise. You'll see exactly what you're getting in the real photos, never a stock shot.

Since these are originals, is each piece one-of-a-kind?

Most come from small original batches, not single units -- so a near-identical piece can occasionally resurface. But these pieces are up to 70 years old now, and well-preserved originals get harder to find every year -- so if one catches your eye, that's your moment. Waiting isn't a strategy here.

Is it a recessed cabinet, or does it mount on the wall surface?

Surface-mount, all of them. These pieces screw straight onto the wall -- no cutting into tile or drywall. And it's not us cutting corners: well-preserved recessed cabinets from the 50s and 60s are genuinely hard to come by, so surface-mount is pretty much what survived. Got a mounting question about a specific piece? Dirk restores every cabinet himself and is happy to talk you through hanging it -- just drop us a line.

Do the mirrors have any age spots or cloudiness?

Sometimes, and we won't hide it if they do. Decades-old mirror glass can develop a little foxing here and there -- when it's present, it's called out directly in that listing and shown in the photos, so you always know exactly what you're getting before you buy.

Do illuminated cabinets just plug into an outlet?

No -- these are hardwired, not something you plug in. The light fitting itself is a standard E14 socket, the same one used worldwide, so once it's wired in, any regular E14 bulb fits. If you'd rather plug it in, a local electrician can easily fit a plug for you instead.

How does shipping work?

Every piece ships from us in Germany, packed with great care and know-how. The shipping cost depends on your country, the weight of the piece and its packed size. You can see the available shipping rates directly below the price on each product page, and again at checkout. If you order several pieces, the combined shipping cost is calculated automatically. Taxes and duties may apply.

Is there a discount if I buy more than one piece?

Yes. Our automatic discount applies across the whole shop, so you can mix pieces from any collection: 10% off when you buy 2 pieces and 20% off when you buy 4 or more. It is applied automatically in your cart, no code needed.
