Fooled You — It’s NOT Ceramic!

Dear Vintaramians,

sometimes something arrives at Vintarama that deserves its very own little fanfare.🎺
These two certainly do. At first glance, they look like ceramic. But they’re actually enamelled steel.

Meet an exceptionally rare matching pair of Cathrineholm “Saturn” bowls, designed in 1958 by Norwegian design legend Grete Prytz Kittelsen. Their unusual black and deep-red colorway is particularly rare: the fine red rings were created by scraping through the black enamel before firing, revealing the red layer underneath. ❤️🖤

Finding one is special. Finding two matching ones, with original markings and in very good vintage condition, is quite another story. Proper collector pieces!

And one more thing: Italia 🇮🇹
