This vintage Moser art glass bowl brings sculptural Czech Mid-Century Modern design to the table—with a little light-catching magic along the way. A swirl of cobalt blue, a glow of amber, and a shape worth admiring from every angle.
Three flowing blue bands sweep through the golden amber glass, following the bowl’s gently stretched triangular form. Rows of tiny, deliberately trapped air bubbles add texture and depth, while the thick glass catches the light beautifully. Its broad, undulating rim rises from a compact polished base, giving this substantial 2 kg piece a surprisingly floating appearance.
Design & Details:
Attributed to Karel Zemek’s “Hana” collection, originally developed for the Mstišov glassworks, this bowl belongs to the expressive tradition of Czechoslovakian glass design. Following Mstišov’s closure in 1964, selected designs continued in production at Karlovarské sklo/Moser. The underside retains a partially preserved Moser label, identifying the brand. The designer and collection attribution is based on comparison with documented examples.
Handcrafted character:
Made as part of an established design collection, each hand-formed bowl has individual variations in its curves, color distribution, and trapped bubbles. These subtle differences give every example its own character.
Give it a sunny spot on a teak sideboard or let it take center stage on your coffee table—the glass supplies its own decoration.
Made in Czechoslovakia, circa 1960s.
